LIBRARY HOURS @ KENWOOD HIGH

 

The Kenwood High Library Media Center provides our students with the opportunity to use the school

resources in a friendly and helpful environment.

Supervision is provided by two Library Media Specialists and one Library Assistant.

 

We are open before classes begin every school day.

We are also open for after school hours on Monday through Friday afternoons.

Please make transportation arrangements BEFORE staying after school.

Students are required to leave the building when the library closes.

Library Access

 

Students are required to SIGN IN/OUT when using the Library Media Center resources at ALL times.

  

During the school day, students may use the Library Media Center during classes with a signed pass

from their classroom teacher. There is a limit of THREE (3) students per teacher during class.

 

Teachers may sign up their classes with one of the Media Specialists for assignment research and project work.

We offer presentations on using the library search software, Alexandria, and on the use of the many

databases available on our library website.

 

We also provide classes with guided Internet searches on their subject area assignment.

These pathfinders or webquests can be found on the Knights Quest page of the KHS Library website.

 

  Students may stay after school for tutoring, study, research, computer use, reading, and project work.

A Media Specialist or Library assistant is available to assist students during this time.

The KHS Library is also home to the Senior Class Officers, Junior Class Officers,

National Honor Society, the Anime/Gamers Club, the Volunteer Book Club and the Movie Club.

Activities and meetings with these groups are scheduled into the library at various times throughout the

school year. Schedule notices are placed in the hallways, on the library bulletin board, on the school website and on KNN.

CANCELLATIONS:

 

ANY CLOSINGS WILL BE ANNOUNCED DURING THE SCHOOL DAY SO THAT STUDENTS CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR TRANSPORTATION HOME.
